The Armin Strom One Week Manufacture Edition reference ST23-OW.90.M.ST presents traditional haute horology through a distinctly modern and architectural design. Limited to 100 pieces, this example is individually numbered. Its openworked construction eliminates the conventional dial, exposing the anthracite PVD-coated mainplate, bridges, winding mechanism and twin mainspring barrels directly from the front.
The movement is arranged to create visual depth and symmetry. Two barrels sit prominently on the right side of the dial beneath individual finger bridges, while the small-seconds display is positioned at 9 o’clock. A three-dimensional power-reserve mechanism uses a mirror-polished cone and conical gear inspired by systems historically found in pocket watches. The winding mechanism is also displayed on the dial side, allowing the opposing ratchet wheels and barrels to be observed while the watch is wound.
Powering the watch is the manually wound Armin Strom manufacture calibre ARM21. Its two mainspring barrels operate in series to provide a full seven-day power reserve and consistent energy delivery. The movement runs at an increased frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour for improved chronometric stability and uses a variable-inertia balance wheel with a flat hairspring.
Every visible component is finished according to traditional haute-horology standards. The movement incorporates hand-polished bevels, Geneva stripes, straight and circular graining, polished screws and carefully finished sinks. Armin Strom assembles each movement twice, with the initial assembly used for adjustment before the components are disassembled, cleaned and completed for final assembly.
The 41mm stainless-steel case measures only 10.6mm thick and is paired with an integrated steel bracelet featuring alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Sapphire crystals on both sides provide a clear view of the movement, while 100 meters of water resistance gives this mechanically elaborate limited edition genuine everyday versatility.
