The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was created in 1963 for professional racing drivers, with a tachymetric scale for measuring average speeds up to 400 units per hour. Reference 126519LN, known among collectors as the "Ghost," pairs an 18 ct white gold Oyster case at 40 mm with a black monobloc Cerachrom ceramic bezel bearing a moulded tachymetric scale. The steel and bright black dial carries three chronograph counters, with Chromalight luminescent hands and markers for legibility in low light.

Inside is the Rolex manufacture calibre 4131, a self-winding mechanical chronograph with an approximately 72-hour power reserve. It uses a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, and carries the Superlative Chronometer certification for a precision of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing. The watch is fitted on an Oysterflex bracelet, flexible metal blades overmoulded in high-performance elastomer, secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with the Glidelock extension system.
