The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph carries forward Gerald Genta's 1972 octagonal design into a purpose-built chronograph platform, distinguished by its exposed case screws, integrated bracelet, and signature Tapisserie dial pattern. This 41mm example is executed in black ceramic, a material AP has used on select Royal Oak Chronograph references for its scratch resistance and deep, consistent black finish, paired with a black dial and matching ceramic bracelet. The octagonal bezel, secured by eight hexagonal screws, and the interplay of brushed and polished ceramic surfaces are consistent with the model's established design language.

Inside is a self-winding chronograph movement built on AP's integrated column-wheel architecture, combining the chronograph function with the time display in a single manufacture calibre. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and closes on an AP folding clasp integrated into the ceramic bracelet, continuing the Royal Oak's original concept of a case and bracelet designed as one continuous form.
