The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 brings the sailing heritage of the Yacht-Master line into a larger, lighter, more contemporary format. Introduced in 18 ct white gold, the 226659 pairs a 42 mm Oyster case with a bidirectional rotatable 60-minute bezel fitted with a matt black Cerachrom ceramic insert, a combination that reads understated from across the room and precious up close. The black dial carries luminescent hour markers and hands, with a Cyclops lens magnifying the date at 3 o'clock.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding Manufacture Rolex movement with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The watch is certified as a Superlative Chronometer, precise to -2/+2 seconds per day after casing, and is fitted to an Oysterflex bracelet (flexible metal blades overmoulded with high-performance elastomer) secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with the Rolex Glidelock extension system.
