The Rolex Submariner Date is the reference point for the modern dive watch, a design first introduced in 1953 and refined steadily ever since. The 126618LN presents it in full 18 ct yellow gold, with a 41 mm Oyster case, a unidirectional rotatable 60-minute bezel fitted with a black Cerachrom ceramic insert, and gold numerals and graduations. The black dial is finished with Chromalight hour markers and hands that glow blue in low light, and a Cyclops lens magnifies the date at 3 o'clock.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding Manufacture Rolex movement with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Certified as a Superlative Chronometer to -2/+2 seconds per day after casing, it is protected by a Triplock screw-down crown and rated to 300 metres. The solid 18 ct yellow gold Oyster bracelet closes with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp and the Glidelock extension system, allowing fine adjustment without tools.
