The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin reference 26586IP.OO.1240IP.01, also known by its development designation “RD#2,” represents one of the most technically ambitious interpretations of the Royal Oak. Its ultra-thin 41mm case is crafted from lightweight titanium and contrasted by a mirror-polished 950 platinum bezel. The integrated bracelet continues this combination with satin-brushed titanium construction and polished platinum links, giving the watch the visual presence of a precious-metal Royal Oak without excessive weight.

The vertically satin-brushed blue dial presents the perpetual-calendar indications through four balanced displays. The date appears at 6 o’clock, the day at 9 o’clock and the month with leap-year indication at 3 o’clock. An astronomical moon-phase display is positioned at 12 o’clock, accompanied by a discreet day-and-night indicator. Applied white-gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands feature luminescent coating for improved visibility.

Powering the watch is the Audemars Piguet manufacture calibre 5133, an exceptionally slim self-winding perpetual-calendar movement measuring only 2.89mm thick. Its calendar mechanism accounts for months of different lengths and leap years, requiring no manual correction until 2100 when kept continuously running. The movement is visible through the glareproof sapphire caseback and provides approximately 40 hours of power reserve.

First presented as the RD#2 concept in 2018 and introduced as a production model in 2019, the watch measures just 6.3mm thick. At its launch, it was recognized as the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual-calendar wristwatch, combining a major technical achievement with the unmistakable architecture of the Royal Oak.
