The Rolex Yacht-Master was introduced in 1992 as Rolex's watch for the sailing world, and reference 226627 marked a first for the brand as its first serially produced model in RLX titanium, a grade 5 alloy that is lighter than steel and highly resistant to corrosion. The 42 mm case carries a bidirectional rotatable 60-minute bezel with a matt black Cerachrom ceramic insert and polished raised numerals. The intense black dial features Chromalight luminescent hands and markers for legibility in low light.

Inside is the Rolex manufacture calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement with an approximately 70-hour power reserve, a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers, certified as a Superlative Chronometer. The screw-down winding crown uses the Triplock triple waterproofness system, and the Oyster bracelet in RLX titanium is fitted with patented ceramic inserts inside the links for flexibility and longevity.
