The Rolex GMT-Master II reference 126720VTNR, popularly nicknamed the “Sprite,” is distinguished by its unconventional left-handed configuration. The winding crown and crown guards are positioned on the left side of the 40mm Oystersteel case, while the date aperture and Cyclops magnifying lens are relocated to 9 o’clock. This reversed layout gives the Sprite a unique appearance while making it particularly comfortable for collectors who wear their watch on the right wrist.

Its bidirectional 24-hour bezel features a two-color green and black Cerachrom ceramic insert. The dedicated green GMT hand works with the bezel to display an additional time zone, while the independently adjustable local hour hand allows the wearer to change time zones without interrupting the minutes, seconds or reference time. The black dial uses Rolex’s Chromalight display, producing a long-lasting blue glow in low-light conditions.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 3285, a self-winding GMT movement featuring the energy-efficient Chronergy escapement, blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. The movement provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve and is certified to Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer standard, guaranteeing accuracy of approximately minus two to plus two seconds per day after casing.

This example is fitted with the three-link Oyster bracelet, secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with Rolex’s Easylink comfort extension. Introduced in 2022, the Sprite was the first production Rolex GMT-Master II with a left-side crown and a date display positioned at 9 o’clock.
