The Rolex Day-Date, introduced in 1956, was the first wristwatch to display both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full in a window at 12 o'clock. Offered only in precious metals, it became widely associated with leaders and statesmen, which earned it the nickname "the President's watch." Reference 128238 is the 36 mm Day-Date in 18 ct yellow gold, the classic size of the collection. Its Oyster case carries the signature fluted bezel, and the white dial offers a clean, highly legible backdrop for the gold hands and hour markers, with the date magnified by the Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock.

Inside is the Rolex calibre 3255, a self-winding manufacture movement introduced in 2015. It features the patented Chronergy escapement and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and the instantaneous day and date change at midnight. Certified as a Superlative Chronometer, it is regulated to -2/+2 seconds per day after casing, and the Oyster case is water resistant to 100 metres.
