The Heuer Monaco became an icon in 1969 as the first square, water-resistant automatic chronograph ever made, and its profile was cemented in pop culture when Steve McQueen wore one in the 1971 film Le Mans. This reference carries that legacy forward with a blue opalin dial, printed steel indexes, and silver chronograph sub-dials for the minute and hour counters, all set within the model's unmistakable square steel case. A date window at six o'clock and a red-tipped chronograph seconds hand round out the dial's functional, motorsport-inspired layout.
Inside is the Calibre 11, a self-winding chronograph movement built around the same left-side crown placement and column-wheel architecture that made the original Monaco famous, offering a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. It drives the hours, minutes, seconds, a quarter-second chronograph with a 30-minute counter, and the date, and the case is rated to 100 metres of water resistance with a sapphire caseback.
