The Cartier Santos de Cartier traces its roots to 1904, when Louis Cartier designed a square cased wristwatch for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, widely credited as one of the first men's wristwatches ever made. This large steel model carries the collection's signature square case with rounded corners, exposed screws on the bezel, and a railroad style minute track. The white dial is finished with blued steel sword hands and Roman numeral hour markers, framed by the model's recognizable stepped bezel.
Inside is Cartier's automatic Manufacture Calibre 1847 MC, a self-winding movement offering approximately 42 hours of power reserve. The case is fitted with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant for everyday wear. This reference uses Cartier's QuickSwitch and SmartLink system, allowing the steel bracelet to be removed and adjusted without tools.
